Artifacts
Artifacts are extremely important for Borderlands. They gave massive damage bonuses to all the hero's special moves.
Siren
Currently there are four types of Artifacts available:
| Element | Element Abilities |
|---|---|
| Corrosive | Great against heavily armored enemies. Does damage over time and may spread to other enemies. |
| Explosive | Does splash damage. Equally effective on all enemies. |
| Incendiary | Great against flesh enemies and zombies. Does damage over time. |
| Shock | Great against shielded enemies. Effective against shields. |
Although these elements are effective against specific types, some enemies may be immune to specific elements. You can tell by the enemies shield color. Additionally, if the enemy is a element type enemy it will be immune against that element, ex: corrosive dog is immune to corrosive damage.
Each artifact looks different before being picked up.
Soldier - Has a four sided pyramid.
Berserker - Has a six sided cube
Hunter - Has an eight sided dice-like shape.
Siren - Has a twelve sided -dice-like shape.

Notes: The level rewards will vary and crystals. Artifact Level 5 rewards available from missions only during second play-through. You are more likely to get the artifact type of the enemy. Ex: A corrosive monster gives a corrosive crystal.
